I just don’t get the charms of gum at all. I chewed it when I was a kid, but gave it up when I got braces and never started again.
It’s like chewing rubber after the first few minutes, and (especially if you chew with your mouth open) makes you look like a slack-jawed yokel. Why chew gum at all?
I like that Extra Polar Ice gum. I can’t chew any gum a whole stick at a time though, some of it is just too sugary. Half a stick, plus it lasts twice as long!
I chew gum mainly at work, and only out of consideration of others who might slide up next to me and ask me to show them something on my computer. I don’t drink coffee at work, but I almost wretch when other people drink coffee, smoke, and skip breakfast on top of it - their breath is horrendous. Same goes for people who avoid the dentist. At least chew some gum or pop a mint in your manky mouth.

Well, Eve, I think that Dire Wolf answered your “Why chew gum at all” question quite well. I skip breakfast, drink coffee, and smoke. I used to use mints a lot, but recently got tired of them, and got in the habit of popping gum in my mouth after a smoke. I only chew them for the duration of the flavour, and I go through lots of gum. I think that anyone who talks to me in the morning really appreciates it.
