Which one do you prefer?
There needs to be a “I really don’t care” option. Count me as one vote for that!
2nd vote for “don’t care/didn’t notice”.
I liked the old lower case , and yesterday I felt stupid saying I was going to miss it. Haven’t decided about whether or not I like the logo yet. I need time to get used to it.
They sure are letters!
I’m at a point in my life where novelty is no longer amusing. The new logo is different, and that’s bad.
The font reminds me of the one used on Sesame Street, and so it looks childish to me.
Yeah, the new font looks like it’s from a reading primer. And the multicolored icon for bookmarks/tabs doesn’t really translate well to a small size.
I guess if I had my druthers, I’d go back to the old set-up.
Probably wouldn’t have noticed if they hadn’t made a big deal out of it.
Since you asked, I don’t care much for the ‘e’ at the end. I don’t like the tilted bar, prefer it to be horizontal.
I like the new one, but I didn’t think redesigning the old one was necessary.
Same here. I like the font, I don’t like that E.
Doesn’t matter much. They only use the regular logo when they don’t have a google-doodle for the day, which isn’t that often. The new one is fine.
Meh, it’s fine. Probably not what I’d have chosen, but whatever.
In six months we’ll have all forgotten what the old one looked like anyway.
I agree, the new one looks childish.
It remains childish which I like about google, so no preference on either logo.
To me, there’s a difference between playful and childish. Playful good, childish bad!
I was happy when GUI trends starting moving away from skeuomorphs … you know, where your calendar app looks like it’s made from leather-bound parchment, or your iBooks bookshelf is made from real wood. Now the pendulum has swung too far though. I miss serifs, drop shadows, and gradients. I suppose it will swing back eventually.
This.
The only reason I know there was a logo change was because Google talked about it.
I feel the same about O.S. changes. “Oh, the start button is smaller and files are called folders!”
I use a computer at work with Windows 10, one with 7, and one with Vista. They all work pretty much the same.
I think the idea is that it be more easily identifiable at smaller font sizes, and it certainly seems like using simple, blocky letters can do that.
