Does sparkling water count as non-flavored? (I would count it, but it is your poll…)
If so, then the answer is that is almost all I drink. I used to drink Diet Pepsi exclusively, but have switched to sparkling water.

Nope, I’m totally there.
I drink water, coffee, alcohol and, very occasionally, fruit juice with breakfast. I do not drink sweet fizzy drinks and, in fact, find it a bit odd in grown-ups. When I first visited the US back in the mid-90s, I was genuinely surprised to see adults drinking coke in smart restaurants. Here, adults would drink water and/or wine with an evening meal. Fizzy drinks are for kids.
I drink lots of plain water at work because we have chilled, filtered water available in all the kitchens. I keep a full water bottle on my desk all the time. However at home I rarely drink any straight water.
I like water…I just like unsweetened iced tea better. I do keep a water jug in the fridge, but most of my fluid intake is in the form of coffee, iced tea or diet Mountain Dew. ::hangs head in shame::
Usually I drink loads of green tea. But I like to drink water after eating. It somehow makes the eating feel complete.
My parents never bought soda or other sugary drinks when I was a kid, so it was pretty much water or nothing. I still love good water. Most cheap bottled waters (Dasani, Aquafina, etc) taste like ass, but the water from our well is probably the best I’ve ever had. Let it sit on ice until it’s cold enough to hurt going down…nothing more refreshing.
I’ve noticed that too. We have good water from our multiple filtering system (we’re on a catchment) and some brands of bottled water taste bad to me now.
We have well water, and it’s awesome. LOVE it. The only other things I drink are booze and occasionally unsweetened iced tea. Never soda.
I’ve never gotten the whole “water doesn’t taste like anything” thing. It tastes like water. What it doesn’t taste like is sugar. I love water.
I pretty much only drink water, coffee, or alcohol. Occasionally I’ll throw in a diet coke if I need caffeine but don’t want the calories of a coffee, which I take with cream and sugar. Generally, I like my beverages to DO something. Hydrate, caffeinate, inebriate.
I only drink plain water if I absolutely have to. I’ve tried tap water, purified water, bottled water, mineral water…it all tastes bitter to me. Flavored water is so much more palatable, especially if the bottle is halfway-frozen and is icy-cold (Propel Grape is the best, although Crystal Light Orange mixes are a close second).
I’m always reminded of the old WC Fields line, “I never drink water; it rusts pipes, and fish make love in it.”
Caffeine-free Diet Coke is the Elixir of the Gods to me.
Brilliant. Please be my NBF.
The only flavoring I want in water is malt and yeast. Otherwise, it’s unflavored water to me.
I did notice that when I started working out regularly, plain water became much more palatable for me than it had before. Somehow, when you get yourself really thirsty, regular water just tastes better than anything with HFCS or other flavorings.
Saying I “love” water is like saying I “love” air - for the most part, it’s not something I think about beyond “need it”.
Pretty much all I drink is water and tea. Occasionally a glass of juice or wine, but I’ll go weeks, even months, between those.
I love water and will generally choose it before any non-caffeinated beverage. That said, I protest against calling it flavorless.
I love water. I drink 96+ ounces a day. On my desk is a 48oz Bubba Keg that I fill twice a day while I’m at work, then I take more when I walk or exercise. I drink water with every meal.
Do share the ratios, please! That sounds amazing.
I drink coffee in the morning, and one serving of milk, juice, or lemonade during the day. Other than that, it’s cold water from the fridge. Once a week, I’ll have a can of Coke.
Unless you’re working out burning 1,000+ calories in your workouts, you don’t really need to drink gatorade or powerade drinks. They are loaded in sodium and sugar that you don’t need.
Water doesn’t taste like “nothing” to me. It tastes like metal. I have several metal fillings though so I guess that could be the problem. With a little flavoring I don’t taste the metal. I don’t like sugar either. I like a little sweetness but not sugar.
I don’t drink much water. My drink of choice is diet soda.
There are a few recipes online, but I usually do one cucumber, one lemon, and 2-3 sprigs of mint in a pitcher that I think is about 1 gallon. Using one whole vegetable/fruit doesn’t overpower the drink and doesn’t lead to any food wasting. Chill it overnight…and there you go. Some people substitute lavender for mint, although I haven’t yet (but it sounds like something to try).
