Do you Nation State?

Has anyone read this Jennifer Government book that the game is based on?

The Constitutional Monarchy of Lechtopia

A complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

My little nation…

it seems like such a nice place! Check out my coooool flag!

The Free Land of Timsania has moved to the Sea of Cecil…

I found it some months ago, now I don’t play so much because I started to get repetitive questions, like jayjay. I still log in occasionally. Here is my nation:

The Most Serene Republic of Tholosson!

Today I moved my nation to the Sea of Cecil!

Same here… I played around with it for a month or so a couple years ago (wouldn’t be surprised if I first found out about it here on the SDMB) but stopped because there’s isn’t that much depth. Doesn’t take long to go through all the questions.

…I present to you The Commonwealth of Athorsyn.

At first I thought I’d try for a perfect utopia, but I decided that would be no fun, so here is The Rogue State of Elizabethistan.

I’ve got a couple of nations. For a while I made sure that I checked them regularly, but lately my checking of them has been sporadic at best. Inspired by this thread, I went in and dismissed all the issues in them. I found otu that it had been 2 weeks since I’d checked them while there.

I think my attention to my nations started to fall off when the region I was part of began to lose nations - they’re deleted when they don’t have access for a certain amount of time. I think it’s down to six nations now and it’s easier to ignore it most of the time.

I had a Nation called Partha, it appears to be gone. I got tired of the game when the questions got repetitive and the choices were very limited too often.

Hooray! The Sea of Cecil is revitalized! It was gettin’ kinda lonely over there.

I don’t mind the repetetive questions too much, but the way there are sometimes limited responses to each - one on either extreme - is definitely a flaw in the game.

I think this is the most entertaining literary publicity stunt I’ve ever seen … although since it hasn’t prompted me to read the book so far, It’s maybe not the most effective.

I signed up (or perhaps almost signed up,) but once I learned the interaction (or at least the policy-setting portion,) would consist of answering periodic question, no thanks. Reminds me of RPGs at their worst.

I had a nation a long time ago, back when there were less than 100 issues, and no way to add more. Now that they’ve allowed user-created issues, it’s a lot better. My current nation, [url=http://www.nationstates.net/karigosutoro], is a cruel and hateful place, with an average tax rate of 100%. (?!) At one point, I was ranked 113,193rd (out of 114,783) in Politically Free nations, and 120th in Most Corrupt Govts.

I’m not sure if I should be proud of that.

By the way, Jennifer Government is a great novel.

Cool! Thanks for the link! The “Free Land of Meepistan” is now the newest resident of the Sea of Cecil.

Does anyone have a list (or know where to find a list) of the various rankings for Civil Rights, Economy, and Political Freedoms?

I’ve just added the Most Serene Republic of Arflebarfle. Still working on the flag.

Yes. It’s not bad, actually. Spookily (and hilariously) plausible in some ways.

It’ll be nice to have some company in the Sea of Cecil. For a long time there, there were only six of us … (Nation of Blithe Spirit speaking).

I’m in the process of creating the People’s Republic of Kythereia–how do I join the Sea of Cecil?

The Armed Republic of Terrapinville has joined the Sea of Cecil!
