As i was driving to work today I saw a beat up looking Intrepid towing a golf cart laden with two sets of clubs. It was turning into a public course and it was raining. You golf folks are hardcore! That’s the first time I’ve seen anybody towing a golf cart though I’m not exactly an avid golfer. The last time I played was probably ten years ago. So, do you own a cart and do you tow it? Or do you play at an exclusive golf course with covered parking for your gold plated cart?
Hubby owns a golf cart. It sits in the shed at the golf course all summer. You’ll see him towing it at the beginning and end of the season, if he needs to bring it home to work on it, or if he’s playing a tournament at a different course and doesn’t want to rent one of their carts.
He plays at a public golf course but has a membership. No gold plating though. It’s $400 a year, and the shed he parks the cart in is full of birds, bats, and spiders, with a dirt floor.
F-I-L owns one, Yamaha I think, and keeps it in a storage stall at the public course. It’s pretty convenient in that there’s electric outlets for you to plug into, plus enough space that you can leave your extra clubs there, shoes, raingear, umbrellas, whatever. It definately cuts down on the hassle factor, plus your cart is so much nicer than one’s you’d normally rent.
My dad owns a golf cart, but to help him get around the grounds with his oxygen bottles.
That too. A friend bought one for her elderly mother, who lives alone on a farm, with a long lane to travel to get to her mailbox. Mom had been driving a tractor to pick up her mail.
Thanks for the replies folks. It seems there is an actual market for these things beyond directly to golf courses for rental. Maybe there will be hover version when I’m old enough to need mobility assistance
My folks have a trailer in a lot on a small lake. About 75% of the members of the club have one or two golf carts with their lots, including my parents of course. The carts are a really convenient and cost effective way to get around the grounds for activities, errands and just visiting other lots.
There’s definitely a pretty sizable market out there for people who aren’t golfers.
Nope.
Ha!
I sure don’t, but ever since I saw Weekend at Bernie’s when I was a kid I’ve always secretly wanted a Porsche one like the people on that island. How frickin’ cool and pointless would that be?
