Do you personally know anyone who believes the world will end on Friday?

Doesn’t that happen every day?

This is how psychics bilk people. Stupid people don’t ask themselves these questions.

While some do, why would you consider that the norm? How does our schools work? Do students graduate individually or in a large group? What we have on earth is a reflection of what is in the heavens.

I dated a guy years ago who believed it, and bet me that he’d buy me a new big screen TV if he was wrong. I’ve been waiting a LONG time to cash in on this bet and you better believe Saturday morning I’m going to start haranguing him to live up to his word.

Only in the special case where mirrors are left lying around on the floor.

He told you? Or is it because of this Mayan crap? You do realize that the Mayan calenedar thing has been completely debunked by those who study the culture?

I do. I know a few, actually, all in my husband’s family. One in particular though, an Uncle, is very, very invested in it. It’s to the point that the family is concerned about what will happen if/when nothing happens. He has a history of mental illness and instability, and is very depressed. He’s a great guy and we all love him, but he’s a bit eccentric (like, doesn’t have a bank account or any sort of ‘record’ of himself eccentric).

Not very well, apparently.

Surprisingly no, which I find odd because I have a lot of idiot family.

Well, my bass player is throwing an end-of-the-world party on Friday. Then again, he throws an end-of-the-world party pretty much every Friday, so I kind of doubt his commitment.

If during the party he starts handing out/allocating his possessions to the partiers… be afraid. Be VERY afraid!!!

It doesn’t work with scientific study, but by belief. God put into motion the concept of this time back when He guided the Mayans to create the calendar knowing how it would be taken on this day by His children.

That’s what matters, how God spoke to the hearts.

Peace

I’m going to be pissed if the world ends on Friday. I’m got my accounting final on Thursday night and I’m dreading it and have been putting in a bunch of hours prepping for it. If all of this ends before I get to make this shit worth wile some Mayan deity is going to have an ass kicking come from me.

If it’s the christian god like Kanic is implying I’ve got to give him props for being a hell of a thief. He stole Christmas from the pagans, Easter from the Jews and not he’s stealing the End of the World from the Mayans. I guess not coveting your neighbors things doesn’t apply to him.

So, non-believers won’t know anything has happened.

Which god are you talking about? Because the Mayans certainly believed different things than you do. And their god thought human sacrifice was just dandy. So is that what we are supposed to follow? And why not just do it without all this late night Discovery Channel nonsense? Your god is weird.

I know one person who is pretty on edge about it, but she’s mentally ill, and into every kind of woo under the sun so she’s not really a stable personality at the best of times.

LOL. I know two. I guess I somehow bogarted someone else’s.

One is a guy who works at the local GameStop. My wife and I were joking about it while shopping and he overheard us and came up to proselytize to us about it. His wide-eyed, surefire belief in it kinda killed the conversation.

The other is a guy I knew in college and am FB ‘friends’ with. He has gone so far as to sell off his possessions and give away a bunch of stuff. Unfortunately, I don’t live anywhere near him, so I have not been able to get an good deals out of it.

It has been sad watching his family try to talk him down from it when he posts about it on FB, though. I am not sure what will happen when the world does not end. At least, he does not have a wife or kids to drag down with him.

He can’t believe too deep or else why be at work? Screw you guys, I’m going home.

No they will go on like nothing has happened, no media coverage, no seeing the sky parted. What would be the point, God loves them too and will graduate them in due time, no point discouraging them by making them feel they missed anything because they have not, it’s just not their time, perhaps you will catch the Zulu end of age.

Doesn’t matter.
