I really like nice food. In a nice environment. With nice people bringing it to me. I don’t do it often, but I like to go to nice restaurants and eat foods that were thoughtfully prepared. How 'bout you? Would you rather have veal medallions with a beautiful mushroom sauce over pasta, or are you a KFC kind of person. Remember, this preference – not affordability.
I prefer to eat gourmet (ie, real food) to fast food. I only eat fast food if I don’t have the time or inclination to sit down and have a real meal.
Isn’t this a little like asking if you prefer a hand-job or a sharp stick in the eye?
I’ll take gourmet and a hand-job, thank you.
Fagjunk Theology: Not just for sodomite propagandists anymore.
My husband is a fast-food-baloney-sammiches-Dinty-Moore-Grilled-Cheese kind of guy. He hates when he has to go to a decent restaurant with me. Many people prefer the fast, simpler things in life. Of course, they’re all crazy.
I’ve been to the very expsensive and the fast food, and I’ll take fast food 9 out of 10 times, as I am jonesing for that more often.
Although, price-no-option, it’d be hard to not desire lobster tail, lump crab meat, stone crab claws, shrimp, mussels, filet, etc, etc., but not with the frequency of fast food. I guess the foods i just mentioned are so desirabel because of theninfrequency with which I get them
Ans. = fast food, 90% of them time.
I’m going to go with neither fast food nor gourmet. I prefer simple food made with good ingredients. I like a good piece of meat that has been properly marinated and then grilled or cooked over an open fire. I like it accompanied by something which is not too heavy or that has been cooked with too much sauce.
There’s something in between fast food and gourmet. I like to call it “authentic”, meaning something you’d cook in your own kitchen from scratch if you had the time & know-how. Small mom & pop restaurants tend to be more authentic than gourmet or fast food.
My favorite thing right now is Hooter’s hot wings.Does that count as fast food?
IDBB
I think that DOES count as fast food. I’m currently into that Lemon Chicken Scallopini at Friday’s. I think it would fall somewhere in between fast food and gourmet, but it is truly wonderous. And it leans toward the gourmet. Mmmmm…
I would say that I would prefer gourmet food. But I don’t prefer the general atmosphere that goes along with it - getting dressed up, wine lists I can’t comprehend, not to mention the price tag.
I’m a casual gal. It’s jeans and sweatshirts for me. But I still like to eat smartly prepared food.
So if I could get the good quality food and be able to eat it while sitting on the couch in my jeans, well, that would be the best of both worlds!
Gourmet for me please. Not the fancy-schmancy 2oz of grub artfully cascaded with a dribbling of some funky sauce, but nice food, in a nice restaurant with courteous waiters.
Fastfood just isn’t my cuppa - unless the painters are in and I’m craving a burger.
Hubby on the other hand could eat fast food every meal and be happy. He can’t stand posh food.
“Do you prefer Wagnerian Music Drama or the Top-40 Hit Parade?”
Geez. There’s stuff in between, you know.
It’s a total different experence. Gormet food usually comes with some level of dressing up and plenty of time, while fast food can be in and out in 15 minutes (Referring to in and out of the resteraunt, but then again foods like White Castle can be in and out that fast in another sense). I can enjoy both types, but perfer the simplicity of fast food.
Fast Food - to be precise McDonalds Cheeseburgers but then again that could be the pregnancy cravings talking.
Mmmm cheeseburger…
Ike, you always make me laugh my ass off with these comments… keep 'em coming.
Hmmm…well, that Last Dinner on the Titanic was pretty damn kickass. Especially that soup-I LOVED that soup.
I prefer gourmet, if I have a choice.
My favorite in-between food is also Hooter’s chicken wings, as well as fried clams, Montreal seasoned steak, etc.
I prefer the taste, flavors, etc, of gourmet, but I prefer the relaxed atmosphere and price tag of fast food.
My wife and I spent a week in France, last June. The food was great (except never order a steak in France…I mean NEVER.). The minute we got to the Detroit airport we headed directly for McDonalds. So, my answer is that too much of a good thing is TOO MUCH. [sup]Variety is the spice of life.[/sup]
I’d say gourmet, except fine dining food presentation turns me off. Artfully arranged food is impressive but I could do without it; I am, after all, going to eat it, not photograph it. And the trend of having the contents of the plate stacked upon each other in the center of the plate is utterly ridiculous to me, because the first thing you do is disassemble the damn thing.
