Yeah, that was great.
Just thought I’d like to put a smile on your face this morning!

Remember when you were in that band - The Beatles?
That was cool!

Wasn’t it a sea gull?
It was a goose, and it was on Apollo’s Chariot at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
The coaster, by the way, kicks ASS. Fantastic coaster. And I enjoyed the ride that much more because the whole time I was on it I could think, “Fabio got his nose broken on this ride…BWAHAHAHAHA…”
Normally I don’t laugh at the misfortunes of others - much - and if he’d been seriously hurt it wouldn’t be funny.
The look of utter embarassment on his face was priceless. I mean who gets hit by a duck on a rollercoaster with an adoring fan on either side? The Harlequin poster boy? Unbelivable.
“Remember when you were in the Beatles”? Heh. Good’n.
Just to clarify, he wasn’t “attacked” by a goose. The goose flew in front of the roller coaster and slammed into Fabio’s nose! LOL! BTW, the goose died. RIP.
Here is a pic of Fabio returning to the station: http://www.cnn.com/SHOWBIZ/News/9903/31/showbuzz/
On a related yet completely NOT related note…
Lyle Lovette was trampled by a bull and had to undergo surgery for a broken leg yesterday. Eye witness accounts say his hair never moved.
Yikes!!! As soon as I finish with Bob Dylan Biograph (disk 1) I’m gonna give a somber listen to Road to Ensenada.
Spritle, hopin’ that Lyle is gonna be OK.
I can’t believe I am defending Fabio here…
He did not sue the amusement park. He didn’t blame anyone. He didn’t act like a jerk about the whole thing. So, I give the guy a bit of credit for that.
(But damn, it was funny)
What could the amusement park have done?
“Hey Fabio… duck!”
/me PUNchs you.
I’d like to take this opportunity to mention the stupidest argument I’ve ever overheard: an argument over what roller coaster Fabio was riding on when he got hit by the fateful bird. Voices were raised, strong assertions were made, and the two young women were beginning to get into personal insults when they finally decided to go look it up online.
Had this happened in the dark days before the Internet, I think they might have come to blows over this.
Totally agree. Saw him on Conan O’Brien and they had a big laugh about the whole thing.
My estimation of him rose quite a few points after that interview. He’s actually a pretty funny guy!
While I may have heard the joke many many many times, I still laugh everytime I hear it…

I, too, have been lucky enough to go on the ride. It’s a really good. It’s smooth, fast, and pretty exciting. The line moves fast, too. I think I got about ten rides in on one day…
