Awhile back there was a thread about someone calling in to a radio show to propose to someone and they found out they were married.
Or something along those lines. The woman was absolutely floored.
I did a seach, several times, but couldn’t find anything.

I remember something like that from a few weeks ago, around Valentine’s Day, I think. The tape was played on KGGO in Des Moines, but I don’t think it originated there.
A radio deejay had been asked by a woman to phone her boyfriend and ask a question about his romantic life – or maybe he was told he was in a contest. I can’t recall exactly.
But the boyfriend named a different woman in his response.
I can’t figure out how to start a search for something like that. “Radio faux pas”? “Bobbit Redux”?
On the other hand, maybe it’s a UL – they could have all been actors, like those Psychic Hotline callers.
I’ll bet somebody here knows.
I believe this is the story you’re looking for: http://www.snopes.com/love/betrayal/radio.htm
It was a sting designed to catch straying spouses, and for some reason this woman swore her boyfriend was true, but wanted them to call him anyway, turns out he was married. You can hear an audio clip of it.
See? I knew someone would know. This is the best Board ever.
I just wonder if that radio call was on the up-and-up, or if it was staged.
