Title pretty much says it all (grammatically mangled a bit I’ll admit, but size constraints are at play). In my case, while I’m not an inveterate confessor here of all my sins and virtues and adventures and whatnot, I have told a few things here that nobody else in my life knows.
There are a few events I’ve posted here that I haven’t told anyone in real life.
Not out of any desire to keep them secret, just that they’ve never been relevent to any conversation I’ve had.
My user name here is well known to my friends and coworkers, so my secrets will remain just that. Secret.
I’ve told the dalmation story to very few poeple in meatspace.
Sometimes I say things that I wouldn’t say to anyone who knows me face-to-face. And, like Projammer said, some things just don’t come up IRL.
I’ve revealed a few things here that I haven’t in the real world.
No.
I love the “Family Circus”
Not so much any more, but when I was caregiving and virtually housebound, I often came here to express things that would have made those around me uncomfortable.
Those were difficult years for me, I received a lot of accolades for what I achieved but I always knew y’all deserved some of the credit. Truly, y’all carried me through some of the most difficult times. I haven’t forgotten. I won’t ever forget.
Yes, because I figure nobody on the Dope is ever going to know who I am.
Nope. I’m the exact same on the board as I am off.
No. That said, there are things many people know in person but never will here.
I think I’ve told my spouse everything I’ve said on here. Perhaps not in those words, however.
Not only do I not do that, I purposely post erroneous details on occasion to mask my true identity.
In fact, I’m doing it now…
Oh, all the time. You guys are the only ones who know about me [REDACTED] that [REDACTED] in High School. And that [REDACTED] incident with [REDACTED] chicken in the [REDACTED] with the [REDACTED]/shark hybrid. Also when [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] Dick Cheney [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED]-hole.
Nope.
Hell, no.
Nope, nothing I wouldn’t tell my friends.
I’ve said some things that I probably wouldn’t say in public, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I wouldn’t say them off the internet at all. And everything I’ve said about myself I’ve probably told my boyfriend.
I do, but it’s all in hidden code.
I don’t think I have, but I have told you things that, IRL, I’d have to know you pretty well first. The level of anonymity does give a bit of freedom. I’m less worried about you liking me, because there’s really no way for you to know who I am beyond what I post. What you like or dislike is just what I post.
