The only “gadget” I feel the need to set in my house is my coffee machine. Because it needs to be ready in the morning. Ovens? Microwaves? Nope. Every other gadget in my house either doesn’t have a clock, or automatically updates the time through the network
I do not set any of these clocks. If it bugs my wife she sets them.
When a relative came to visit, my system really bothered them, so they reset all of the ones that were flashing +/or out of whack. Works for me!
Yes. I don’t like things out of square, or partially closed or displaying wrong information. Not real OCD, just peculiar. Changes to/from DST launch me on a quest to make sure everything from the cars to the stove are correct. Been doing a lot of electrical work on the house that necessitates frequent power shutoffs. I should have been wearing a step counter for these, as I race around the house resetting everything when it’s back on. I can’t stand for them to be wrong, and for some reason I really hate things that flash at me.
We use the microwave maybe once a week. When it dies it will not be replaced.
I basically have everything that has a visible clock set.
Except one on a spare bedroom. It’s not used often and as near as I can tell it’s the Power Outage Clock. If I do set it, there will soon be an outage and it’s blinking again.
At least the blinking reminds me to ignore the time on it.
The clock on my coffeemaker is tiny but utterly critical.
Oven and microwave get set because they’re annoying otherwise, and there’s no other easily visible time display in the kitchen.
The thermostat gets its time from the cloud. The only other “gizmos” in the house that need to know the time are two dusk-dawn light switches. They go a step farther and need to know the date and their location so they can adjust the on/off time every day. Wish they could be app-driven as their displays are seriously tiny due to the space limitations of being a normal width light switch. Mercifully, they have internal battery backup, so they’re pretty much set and forget.
Yes, and they are perfectly synchronized.
Doesn’t everybody?
