I’ve been waiting for a good job to drop in my lap!
Not sure being AG counts as a “good job”, especially with who the recent boss has been.
Would be the second-best job offer I’ve had in a long, long time!
I think R Kelly will absolutely face consequences.
It’s a shame that he’s such a creep. I liked his music.
guilty on all counts, sentencing in may.
I’m going out on a limb and saying he will face consequences.
You’re a brave, brave man.

I agree with Gato. It has taken decades to get this waste of space facing serious charges. He’s been convicted on trafficking now, facing a depressingly low sentence, but I have hopes that the other charges (if he’s convicted) will add time on. Like OJ, he’ll have a coterie of followers, will splash cash to get all the extras he can swing, and will have an easier time in jail than most. Hopefully it will at least reduce his influence over people outside the prison system, but even that seems unlikely.
On reread, my post from Feb '20 might have been taken as a swipe at Gato. It was not. I thoroughly enjoy his sense of humor. It was a commentary on the quality of people staffing the previous administration, and recognizing Mr. Kelly as a potential candidate for AG. I apologize for any confusion.
D’oh! I didn’t notice the date. Rookie mistake on my part. Yes, Gato would have been a much better choice for AG.
No, it’s good. I have an annoying habit of being unclear, it’s why I don’t post much anymore.
30 years of consequences.
I’m just reading the Wikipedia article. He started sexually abusing Aaliyah when she was 13, then wrote and produced her first album before illegally marrying her at the age of 15 using false papers. And he called the album Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number. That is nothing if not bold.
For those who’d like more details, the sentence came down today (but there are still pending cases against him in Illinois and Minnesota):
I’m in a jail cell. Trapped in a jail cell…
Has anyone seen anything about prosecution of his entourage? There’s a lot of talk about enablers during his trial, but I can’t find anything about anyone else actually being prosecuted. There must have been a lot of people involved, and deterring people from cooperation and deference is equally important.
Another case where I’m glad to be wrong. Actually happens so often, it don’t even faze me anymore. I’m as out of touch as Column shifts and Ashtrays.
But seriously, can I be AG?
Can I help?
The court found that in this case there was, indeed, something wrong with a little bump ‘n grind.
(I’ll see myself out.)
It’ll be like Murder, She Wrote once a long-timer gets a shank and a chance.
