Do you think that Jackson is guilty or innocent?

I’m certain at this point that Michael Jackson is a pedophile who has molested kids. The witnesses leave little doubt.

Problem is, jurors aren’t being asked to judge whether he’s molested dozens of kids, they’re being asked to judge whether he molested one particular child. And this particular child has a family that LOOKS suspicious and unsavory. I can easily imagine jurors thinking, “I’m sure Michael is a pedophile, but I’m not all convinced this kid is one of his victims. This looks a lot like a shakedown attempt gone bad.”

I don’t trust Michael Jackson, and neither will the jury… but the jury may find the plaintiff’s family even less credible.

What I ment by “philosophical” is that at some point someone explained to him where babies come from. So, he’s comfortable with sex so far as he understands that it leads to new babies. But all the rest of the details are icky-no-no. If they are his biological children, then a turkey baster was his corrier. I don’t know what Lisa Marie was thinking.

As for guilt, I haven’t been following the case closely, but I’m betting that the prosecution wouldn’t have tried unless they had a good shoot. He’s dodged too many of these before.

As for everyone else who are turning up their noses and quoting “innocent until proven guilty:” No sh*t Sherlocks. The proving is what we are discussing. Whether the evidence is sufficient to prove guilt. If you think not, then say so and why. Don’t just scoff from your high horses.

I think he’s guilty.
And I think he’s bought hisself a couple of the prosectution witnesses.

The point is that this is a game I don’t want to play, but prefer to leave to a professional judge. I am not even comfortable with juries, and the way lawyers play to influence them, or even address a tv-audience. I can be interested in watching a Dutch court-case, for the mere fact that there are two laywers and a judge, and an accused, and what’s happening is dry fact-finding and matching them against the law and previous cases. I’m comfortable with watching that, and I could have an opinion, perhaps, but even in those circumstances I would generally refrain from considering myself more qualified than a professional judge.

It’s like the O.J. case, with so many people thinking he’s guilty even though he won the case. The guilt rubs off and decreases the value of the court’s judgement. Immoral and wrong. Although I learnt it as a child, I don’t like riding horses, because I don’t feel comfortable with me bossing around an animal that has to carry my surplus weight in the process. But this particular saddle suits me just fine, thank you.

I genuinly look down upon what happens in threads like these. I’m sorry, I can’t help it. Making a case like this a public one currently means convicting someone no matter what the outcome, and I consider that a great evil.

Guilty, though not necessarily of the specific charges he’s facing.

I predict he’ll be convicted and commit suicide, or possibly be acquitted and commit suicide. Or maybe he’ll just die of some plain old moon-man virus contracted on one of his visits back to his home planet.

My reason for thinking that he’ll be dead soon is that it is simply inconceivable to me that we might have another 30 years of gawking at MJ’s incredible strangeness. No one this bizarre and this famous can have a long life.

That’s how I see it too. I think he’s guilty in that he has sexually experimented with young boys. However, I don’t think that he can register mentally that he has done something wrong, because he sees himself as a young boy, too. So when he’s showing porn magazines to a 10-year-old, he sees it as a perfectly natural thing between two friends. It wouldn’t be so unusual for a couple of sexually curious 10-year-old boys to look at a porn magazine together, would it? I think that’s how Michael Jackson sees it. Mostly, I see Michael Jackson as a very sad individual who should have gotten help long ago.

I think Michael would be institutionalized if he were not Michael Jackson. I won’t go so far as to say that I think he’s guilty, but I do think he’s mentally unstable.

In reading VarlosZ post, I can see a definate possibility of him killing himself.

Lisa Marie has been on a publicity tour the last few weeks for her new album. She’s gone on several shows and on all of them she claimed that she and Michael consummated the relationship on their wedding night. I don’t know what you’re thinking to say that you know better than she.

Does the name Howard Hughes ring a bell?

Anyhow, I haven’t followed the case and therefore don’t really know whether he’s guilty or not. Freaky? Sure. But guilty of pedophilia? I’ll have to wait for the jury.

The innocent until proven guilty theory is all well and good but we all know that people are tried in the media long before anything ever goes to trial. And you average person listening to the coverage is also going to form an opinion and want to speak about it, that’s all we’re doing. We’re not his judge and jury, we’re just speaking about our opinions of a news story.

What is amazing about the whole Michael Jackson business is how long it actually took for him to go to trial for the kind of thing we’ve been hearing about for years. He has been able to throw money at his problems to make them go away for a long time and he can’t do that anymore. They changed the laws just for him!

I think he’s guilty. I think he fits the profile of a pedophile too well and the “never had a real childhood/ never grew up” story just doesn’t hold water. There are lots of child stars who have been through similar experiences, some ended up in drugs or crime but many others turned out okay. If Michael were a rational person who was just being shaken down for money then he would have changed his behavior years ago and actually grown up and accepted that it was time for him to grow up. He would have sought professional help to do so, but he didn’t. He continued with the same behavior, he surrounds himself with enablers and yes-men. He lives in his own fantasy world. I feel sorry for him because he’s apparently never had anyone in his life who would risk being cut off from his wealth in order to tell him the honest truth that he needs help.

What bothers me most about all of this is that it isn’t about Michael, the ship has sailed on him long ago. But there are so many more children that have been and will be affected by his actions and not one single adult in his universe gives a damn about them. It’s protect Michael, our sacred cash cow, at all costs.

Word is Quincy Jones did and that’s why they no longer speak. Anyway your post sums up my feeling on the subject quite niceley with this bit thrown in. I think Camp Jackson made a concerted effort to smear the family and poison public opinion of them. This has been demonstrated in the fact that three of the witnesses Jackson attorney said he would call by name to say how the family scammed them actually were called by the prosecutor and said just the oppposite.

Another thing that supports the pedophile profile that I heard last week on Court TV is that the current accuser and two of the previous accusors (both of who received settlements) are very similar in appearance.

I actually think Jackson is completely sane and playing one hell of a role to convice people of his whacko-ness.

Oh, he HAS had some of his friends and entourage stand up to him and tell him the truth-but he immediately drops them. (That one Rabbi, for example).
