Title says it all, but, and forgive me if this has been covered ad nauseum, but does your company have any idea how much time you waste on this (or other significant) site(s).
I ask this because I was responding to a survey where one of the questions asked how many hours a week I spent in the web and I figured it’s anywhere from 20-30. I only log on at work, I haven’t even fired up my home computer in well over a year.
I still get all my work done, I just seem to spend a veritable ass-load of time on the web.
If there is a need to know, they can find out everywhere, when, and how long. I know my old company tracked every web page you went to. The managers were notified of excesses or inappropriate sites. The only time that any real issue was raised was when an employee was not accomplishing their work or when someone did the porn site thing.
I spent a long time dicussing this (verbatim)with a coworker who I originally thought was paranoid. He showed me several examples he had found of people losing thier jobs due to the quantity (and quality) of time spent on the net. Companies don’t even have to let thier employees know that they are being monitored!!!
