Do You Use (Know) These Slang Expressions?

Just curious if anyone here ever used (or still uses) these few random expressions:

  • 831 (I love you)
  • assvice (unsolicited help)
  • bardcore (poem based on Shakespeare)
  • bitgod (back in the good old days)
  • Clark Kent job (pays bills but unfulfilling)
  • Control Z (to undo something)
  • fattractive (body positivity)
  • Goo diligence (use Google to confirm something or settle an argument)

Any others?

No, I haven’t, but goo diligence and Ctl Z have some appeal for me. Thanks for fighting a tiny titch of my ignorance today.

Autocorrect seems to prefer poems to porn.

Poem still make sense

No: first I’ve ever heard of any of those.

I do like the ‘assvice’ one. Quite relevant, and quite useful. I’ll run with it.

I don’t use any of them, but then, I’m 55.

The only one I’ve ever even heard of is “bardcore,” though where I’ve seen it, over the past few months, has been in reference to covers of modern pop or rock songs, done in an medieval or Renaissance style, like this:

Same here. But I’m 59.

As am I. :grinning:

Don’t feel bad old-timers. This youthful 45-year-old hasn’t heard of any of them either.

Never heard of these. 36.

Not for poetry but Hildegard von Blingin’ and her colleagues, doing medieval style covers of modern music, e.g.

ETA: @kenobi_65 beat me to it

I’ve heard of “control_z,” but none of the others.

I’ve heard and use Control Z.
EDIT: Actually I’m on Mac so I called it Apple Z to undo something.

Anyone want to guess what these mean?

  • California King
  • clitterati
  • expresshole
  • gradumacate
  • hasselhoff
  • nintendonitis

California King is a type of extra-large bed, but that term has been around for decades. I have no idea if it has a new slang definition.

The slang definition is pejorative.

Please don’t force me into Urban Dictionary.

I have no idea aside from “hasselhoff,” from Knight Rider and Baywatch. “Nintendonitis” I would guess it’s carpal tunnel syndrome from playing videogames for too long.

I have not heard of a single one of them.

“Clitterati” is that where you train your clitoris to sing like Paverati?
