Do you wear bedroom slippers?

I don’t like to wear shoes, socks get too dirty, so I wear shearling slippers except when it is very warm. Then it is barefoot or less warm leather slippers.

Potentially dirty floors? There’s nothing “potential” about the dirt on my floors. It’s perpetually dirty floors (thanks to those darned cats).

Funny you should ask about slippers…I just mentioned to the husband that I was thinking about getting a pair of slippers (probably the shearling style) and he said, “Why would you want to walk around looking like a dork?” The Dork Factor has kept me from wearing them for years, but now that I’m a Middle Aged Dork, I figure it’s part of the uniform.

Nope, I usually always barefoot in the house. Shoes are usually the first thing to come off when I come in.

I often wear slippers similar to these around the house. But with the colder weather I’ve set them aside and switched to my Uggs with the 10-inch tops. I’ll go back to the Qwarüba slippers in the Spring or Summer.

I’ve an ancient pair of Jesus-sandles that have moulded perfectly to my odd-shaped feet. Gets odder looks that slippers if I forget I’m wearing them and go outside, though.

Never. Barefoot most of the time. If my foot brushes up against exposed skin and causes me to realize they have turned into ice cubes, I’ll put on some woolly socks.

I have a friend who’s one of these super-cool dudes (once he refused to go to the pub with me because he was wearing shorts, apparently men can’t wear shorts in public, even when it’s thirty degrees), and he wears grandpa slippers (rubber soles, felt tops, grey-green in colour) all the time. Hilarious.

I mainly go barefut indoors, or with big old-man socks.
When it turns cold though, like today the floor is fecking freezing, I turn to

…would you believe I wanted to build suspense?

My toasty warm down filled booties .

I just got a pair of monkey sock-slippers for Christmas. I never used to wear anything in the house. Must be getting old, now I always have atleast a pair of socks on, and most of the time either the new sock-slipper things or regular pair of slippers.

I wear slippers (plain old fleecy slide type ones) in the winter and flip-flops during the summer. I dislike walking around barefoot since I have cats who shed copiously and track in dirt. And i alos dont’ like wearing shoes inside so I keep my house shoes right by the door…

I gave in to the Dork Factor and my feet are very happy. My husband is happier too. Cold feet make me grumpy.
It’s still bare foot as long as it’s warm, though.

I wear sandals, those kind with a rubber sole and webbing straps. Then again, I live in halls at uni, so once ur out of ur room there is no telling what u might stand on/in, especially in the showers :S

Yes, suede with fleece lining and rubberized soles, and for several reasons:

*Warmth (diabetics have poor circulation).
*Protection from stubbed toes and possibly stepping on something unpleasant like cat barf.
*Protection from a recurrence of Plantar’s fasciitis.
*Traction on a wet floor.

I just got a really fuzzy, fuzzy pair for Christmas. I’ve never worn any kind of “bedroom” footwear. I haven’t worn those big thick socks that are for padding around the house in, or sleeping in. I’ve never worn anything like that at all until THIS CHRISTMAS.

Now that I have them, I absolutely LOVE THEM!

Mine look like tiger fur. They are chenile, and are really soft.

I used to go barefoot at all times at home. Since I took up wearing slippers several things have improved around the homestead.

My SO doesn’t trip over my abandoned shoes because I walk to my closet to get my slippers.

If I step on an errant piece of Lego it pierces the spongey rubber sole of my slipper rather than piercing the sole of my foot.

Fewer stubbed toes.

If I accidently step in some oobleck it’s on my slippers not my feet.

Do I look like a dork wearing slippers? Can’t be nearly as dorky as wearing a sneaker with a hole cut out for my little toe 'cause it’s broken. I’ve had to do that a few times.

Not me. I think they’re just too shoe-like in my mind, so I avoid wearing them. (I don’t wear shoes in the house either, obviously) If it’s too cold for bare feet, I put on socks. I have a pair of those slipper-socks things for when it’s really cold, but that’s about it.

Socks. Love to wear socks unless it’s warm weather, then I go barefoot.

Sometimes, if it’s cold and I’m sockless, I’ll pull on my floppy quilted booties that usually live under the bed where the cats have dragged them.

No wonder the farmers like to drive by your house.

I have occasion to wear my infamous Dino the Dinosaur slippers, which, with it’s ginormous nose rising up an easy 8 inches on top of my feets and queasy purple coloring, keeps them quite warm even when I walk across the street to retrieve the mail. This causes my entire family to move to another state so the shame can seep into the ground. I use these WMD sparingly so the average neighborhood appraisal maintains an even keel.

What are these “shearling slippers” that everyone seems to like so much?

Where are they sold?

Sounds interesting

I wear slipper-mocs, faux suede. From the dollar store – tres comfy.

I was a barefoot-at-home kinda girl until the day I opened the front door sans footwear, and the bottom edge of the door caught my big toenail and tore it off.

For some reason, since then I prefer something covering the top of my feet.
