Doctor Phlox

Dr Phlox is “my” cat

I had this cat dumped on me a couple of weeks ago, I recently lost a most beloved elderly cat and am taking it very hard, someone thought this little fellow would cheer me up (so far, for several reasons, it’s not working out wonderfully)

Anyway, just had to share this pic with someone, I think it’s quite funny! He’s sitting in a little fleecy cushion cover someone gave me for him, he likes sleeping IN it

OK that’s the cutest thing I’ve seen today!!

He’s precious, I hope everything works out for you.

I thought this thread was going to be about John Billingsley.

Great cat pic, though.

yeah, i wondered how many people would be suprised to find i was talking about a cat… you’ve no idea how long it took me to come up with a name for him, i had some pretty sad suggestions

That’s a cool name for a cat. Long hairs can be a pain but brushing helps a lot.

I’m confused about the white ears/nose and skin cancer reference on your page. What is the increased risk, exactly?

The risk of skin cancer is a cat with white ears and nose is increased significantly because that part of the skin doesn’t have enough fur to protect it from the sun…i should probably also mention i live in teh worst part of the world for skin cancer - (the south east corner of Australia) oddly, not remotely the hottest place in Australia, but the worst for skin cancer - heard it’s something to do with the hole in the ozone but not sure if that was just a rumour

forgot to mention one of the most important parts LOL…the very “fair” skin, with little or no pigmentation puts animals, people etc at much greater risk
