I’ve said this before, but if I knew nothing else about a health care change I would consider the fact that doctors disapprove of it to be a sign it’s a good idea. It’s the same logic I use if I hear lawyers oppose a change in the legal system. These guys are the insiders - if they think the status quo is benefitting them, then it’s screwing the rest of us.

Really - to deny that the SDMB is overwhelmingly, predominantly liberal is to be so facetious or so clueless that there’s little point in talking to you. In the real world - outside of the world of the basement-dwelling radicals, college students, and facebook ninjas - the message of the average politically-oriented thread on the Straight Dope Message Board is so radically liberal as to be unrecognizable to the average person.

These cries for conservatives, with no qualifiers or intelligence behind the cries, to stand up and declare some sort of position statement on someone’s timetable, are silly, ignorant, and indefensible. And yes, from time to time I have the ability to browse the SDMB for fun instead of work, and when I do so I will post what I see fit to post.

I know exactly one person in “real life” who would consider this place to be ‘radically’ liberal, and everyone else I know in “real life” considers that particular person, well… not especially bright.

When asked what specifically he was so upset about in the health care bill this Dr said the removal of hospice care coverage. He claimed that the Dems not only want to kill you by removing services but to die painfully by removing hospice coverage.:dubious:
When it was pointed out to him that, in fact, all that was being removed was the ability of Dr’s to doubledip, (by charging for hospice care and also deducting the costs of providing it), his response was, “But, doh, I read it on the internet.”
Yet again, just plain stupidity.
