This season just gets better and better. I thought I’d hate Catherine Tate as a companion, I can’t stand her sketch show, but this series has had some of the best episodes of the whole 4 years.

Totally agreed! Every episode this year has been so strong - smart, fast-paced, varied and completely bonkers. I’m loving it.

I assume next week is meant to explain Susan, one of those anomalies in the canon that is usually danced around and never directly addressed.

What anomoly? They stated it outright at the time she was introduced - she’s his granddaughter. (And if you follow the novels, the relationship was directly addressed again in Lungbarrow in a slightly more complicated way - but even so, she’s his granddaughter.) I don’t think they’re desperate to dredge up 45 year old continuity issues.

Although if they did mention Susan, I would just about pee my pants with excitement.

As far as I know, she was seen in this and the first episode, and it was probably her mentioned in the second episode.

How’d she get mentioned? I must have missed something. The second was the Pompeii episode, right?

The girl also said to Donna “There is something on your back” but I haven’t seen anyone guess at that one yet.
