I actually wept during Capaldi’s final speech. I’ve never done that with any other Doctor. Then I silently screamed at Moffett “WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN THE LAST FEW SEASONS, HM? YOU SHOULD’VE BEEN WRITING LIKE THIS ALL ALONG!”
My first tear-welling was seeing Nardole, I liked Bill but I think Nardole added that extra something to the whole Doctor/companion universe that Bill didn’t possess. I don’t know if it’s writing or Pearl Mackie’s inexperience (wasn’t this her very first acting job?)
I also like David Bradley as the First Doctor. There was a Doctor Who anniversary special a few years back where he played Hartnell both as the Doctor and offscreen. I imagine that’s why he played the One here.
