With all the killing and destruction he has led, wouldn’t someone try to take revenge on him through his family? I’m not talking about governments (necessarily), but he has injured so many that surely someone has the means to get back at him through a vulnerable route.
The constant stream of news reports never seems to talk about his background other than he is a Jordanian. What’s the deal with his family background?
He probably wouldn’t care. He doesn’t seem to think that the innocent lives being lost in Iraq are an issue, in fact he has just their deaths are justifiable in a jihad. He would probably consider dead family members to be martyrs.
What, that a relative of a victim of a terrorist might actually want to take revenge against the family of that terrorist? This is unheard of!
glee , I’m not proposing anything like a policy to do this, what I’m wondering is what is known about this guys background and given the level of pain he has inflicted, what keeps retaliation against his family from happening by vengeful survivors? It’s not like there are going to be a lot of Iraqis that will want to turn the other cheek. Surely he has hit someone with the desire and resources to take this kind of revenge, given the wide swath he has cut.
Also, it’s not like he can get any worse. He uses every tool at his disposal to reek havoc. I doubt someone seeking revenge will feel guilty about having the violence step up due to Zarquawi feeling an even greater need to destroy.
My point is, he is already killing everyone he can and is calling for the killing of innocents so the jihad doesn’t stop. I have no doubt he would use WMD’s in a heart beat if he had them. I don’t see any way he can be made worse.
.
So, back to the original point, is there anything known about him other then he is a Jordanian? Does a complete lack of knowledge of his background protect him from revenge? We know about Bin Laden’s family, we know nothing about this guy?
I don’t think the OP suggested that someone should. I think the question was, facing facts, and understanding the brutal world we live in, why hasn’t someone targetted this guy’s family yet? You can expect that something would have happened based on the way the world works without suggesting that you want it to or that it should be done.
There were some reports that he used his Father in law on a suicide bombing mission which causes this blogger to cry BS. But it implies a marriage. http://kurtnimmo.com/blog/index.php?p=544
Well my answer would be ‘a sense of decency’.
Why is killing a relative moral? How distant a relation do you want?
If you hear a terrorist is in a building, do you blow it up?
If he’s in a city, do you nuke it?
I think it’s important to keep this in mind, otherwise the terrorists are making progress. (‘Someone killed my family - help me strike back!’)
