Does All of Michigan Suck Now?

Oh, honey, I was afraid that was what you meant. We checked them out last week, and will definitely not be returning.

  1. No booze. No plan to acquire a license either. Not a deal breaker for most cuisines, but there’s something inherently wrong with not being able to get a margarita or a dos equis with lime when eating Mexican.

  2. The food was edible, but tasted like it was made by whitebread people who shop exclusively at GFS and have never actually eaten Mexican food. Very generic, everything tasted pre-packaged or canned with very little flavor, zero depth.

And, it’s three miles from me and twenty from A2, although with MI driving we can count that as halfway due to turnarounds.

Oh, you big baby. I’m up for some nom runs though.

So why don’t y’all come down to Ann Arbor to go to Sabor Latino, if it’s so good.

(If it isn’t, I’m holding olives and *Hello Again personally responsible.)

This thread is making me homesick again :frowning:

And, living in AZ now, I’d take any of my MI “homes”: Chesterfield/New Baltimore, Kalamazoo (college for me) or East Lansing/Grand Ledge (college/childhood for my wife).

If only I could find employment back home…

ETA: I forgot to mention Heaven on Earth: Bilbo’s Pizza in Kalamazoo. The old bar on W. Michigan is gone, but the new location on Stadium was just as great the one time I made it there.

The weather is to be 80’s and sunny today. Slept with the windows open last night, which is very, very unusual for Michigan in the Spring.
If anyone is a golfer and golfs at Wabeek, drop me a line, I have a young friend who works there who will take care of your golfing needs ( short of finding a Waffle house waitress, though he’d probably do that too.) Just thought I’d throw that out there.
