Jule Huffman, AKA Mr Cartoon was the host of a local kiddie show in West Virginia where I grew up… Hepassed away today at the age of 91… Any other Dopers from that area remember him?
Mine was Sailor Bob, out of Richmond, VA.
We moved to eastern Kentucky before my third grade year. Mr. Cartoon was something all of us kids watched. I am not sure why. It wasn’t all that entertaining and the same cartoons got repeated over and over.
Yup, those old local kid shows are a thing of the past, ISTM. A shame really…
I loved him, and Beeper! His grandson lived down the street from me, and we used to be so jealous that he was Mr. Cartoon’s grandson. Then I found out that Mr. Cartoon lived just a few blocks away and we loved to walk past his house, hoping to see him. Unfortunately I never got to be on the show.
