I’ve seen it used on the net sporadically, and heard Jason Mewes (Jay of Jay and Silent Bob fame) use it in a movie or two. But “snooch to the nooch” doesn’t really make it easy to figure out what the word means by context…
(And it also makes me wonder what “snooch” means.)
(scholarly tone) Snootch is an archaic past tense of snatch (v.t.) and nooch, in this phrase, is a rhyming-slang corruption of nth, as in the nth degree. In other words, snatched to a superlative degree. (/scholarly tone) Harumph.
And what is the proper spelling? I’ve seen “noonch”(check the New Years shirt), “nootch”, and “nooch”. Since the first spelling is the one listed on the ViewAskew website, I think that’s the proper spelling although the last two seem to be the more popular ones in web searches.
My WAG- It’s an all-purpose word, similar to “smurf”.
“Sorry! That user has specified that they do not wish to receive emails through this board.”
Besides, he/she/it hasn’t posted for almost two months; could be a short-timer.
Mojo: Did you notice the picture shows it as “nootch” while the text says “noonch”? I mean, if you can’t count on web designers for spelling, who can you trust?
