Does anyone else always fast-forward past "Cheer up, Charlie"? [W.Wonka and the Chocolate Factory]

I knew exactly what he was talking about because I also always fast-forward that part. I didn’t know it was a thing with anybody else.

Also did she notice that the headboards of the bed look like boobs

I also fast forward through what I call “the dopey firefly song” in Disney’s Robin Hood, and there’s one song in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang that I zap right through.

In otherwords, cut the mushy stuff and get on with the swordfight.

Oh, didn’t mean to make a thing of it. Sorry.

That is disgusting and vulgar! Why did you post that?

Your link is broken. The above was a joke.

Don’t. It wasn’t.

I knew exactly what you were talking about as soon as I glanced at the song title.

Oh, lighten up.

And?
Everyone is not you.
ETA: And as for the OP, so this doesn’t start a major hijack or derailment: I think I may have fast forward it once or twice.

Granted.

But I just wanted to point out that not everyone needs their hand held and everything spelled out for them all the time.

MTCicero, it is not a good idea to tell a mod who’s modding to “lighten up.” We have guidelines around here and ask people to follow those guidelines. If you have a beef with my moderating, take it to ATMB, don’t come in here and argue with me.

Heck, in my family the slow, draggy number that always happens in the middle of a movie musical is referred to as the “Cheer Up Charlie” moment. And yes, it gets fastforwarded through. (“Climb Every Mountain,” for instance.)

I skip the Oompa-Loompa songs. Man, I hated those little jerks.

I like the Oompa-Loompa songs

but I never understand how Mike Teevee is greedy

Always did as a kid. Haven’t watched in a while…usually I let it drag on, but if I’m impatient to get to the goodstuff, I’d FF it.

I have no idea how that beastly maudlin monstrosity made it through test screenings intact.

Yes. And Beauty School Drop Out in Grease.
