Does anyone else think the message screen is changing what they wrote?

I keep finding things missing, especially things I backed up over when typing. Like I’m sure I had two question marks on the last line below, that disappeared between my sending it and it arriving on the thread. (Maybe it’s not grammatical to have two, but I did.)

Re: goaheadcaller

I’ve noticed there’s a long delay in the “type-ahead”. Maybe that causes these errors?

This may come as a surprise to you, but questions about the message board are usually answered in the forum “About This Message Board”

Actually, it does. I never look there.
Thanks for the tip.
Now have you had the feeling your words changed after you last looked at them or not?

My posts have always appeared exactly as I’ve typed them. To double check what you’ve typed before posting (and thus knowing exactly what it will look like when posted) click the Preview Reply button first. This is extremely helpful especially when creating a link or using code to make sure it works.

You know, I did that a few times, but then had the same problem with the changes I added. I suppose I could preview the preview, but the connections take so long as it is.

I changed all of your posts.

Someone or something has been altering my posts consistently over the past few years.

Instead of projecting the image of a thirteen-year-old wrestling fan from Hackensack, some unknown force has turned my posts into something a more mature professional man might write.

I am at a loss to explain this phenomena (pa-ti patity).

Thank you for your interest.

Funny, I was just thinking that.

I typed this

The word was “Maybe”, I’m sure. I may have backed-up over it, and retyped it, so maybe the bug it only affects re-typing.
Some times I’ve noticed that I can’t get a line more than half way across the typing window. It just won’t let me.
Then I get odd short lines.

I think I have a unique view of the problem.
While I’m at work I have a kick-ass machine, with no hitches and a T-3 line.
While at home I have a kick-and-play non-pentium 36K modem and AOL, and my posts get screwed up all the time, because my fingers are faster than the machine.

QuinCity and Bongel, could the problem be crappy equipment?

I used to habe the problem of the MB changing my posts, but I find that this tinfoil hat I made prevents it from happening. It only took a couple of minutes to make, and I’ve never been happier.

I knew a guy who wore tinfoil hats a lot. Said he could get Radio Tokyo. From the '40’s.
