Does anyone have Paint Shop Pro and is willing to convert a few files for me?

I used to use PSP instead of Photoshop back in the day, and it used to be that PS would open PSP files, but that feature has long since gone away. I have many old PSP files that I would like to edit and update, but I can’t.

I downloaded the free trial version of PSP and it worked for a little while (3-4 days) bu then I took my computer into the shop to have it looked at and ever since it hangs when it launches (for hours–it ain’t never gonna open). I’ve tried removing and reinstalling it and I wasn’t averse to paying for it when the trial ran out, but not if I can’t get it to actually open!

So I basically have a few files that I need converted to .psd format from time to time. Not a whole lot, and not too often. Maybe 5 or so right to start with.

So I am asking the teeming millions… do any of you run Paint Shop Pro? It can be a pretty old version, as I think the last version I had when I was actually using it was like v8 (before Corel bought them). Would you be willing to convert a few files for me?

Pretty please?

Sure. Message me.

You might want to look into using GIMPfor that. It appears to be able to open PSP files, and save as .PSD, though I haven’t actually tried saving files in that format.

Thanks, but I actually found a place to buy an older version of PSP on the cheap, and it installed fine, so I’m good to go. I appreciate your willingness to help!

Cool.

Actually, when JASC was an independent company, they would give away the previous version of Paint Shop Pro with computer magazines. I worked for the company for a while as a researcher and tester (I did defensive research on the history of computer graphics and when particular features were invented.)
