I don’t think that would have satisfied your requirements. Anything that relies on capacitive diractance tends to leak 5G due to the incompatibility of nano-layer catalysers and tremie pipes.
Not only that but since lotus-o-delta type windings have become the most efficient for blockchain NFT mining, the lead time has become prohibitive.
So wait, I’ve got an actual question now. So if my cell phone is locked in a Faraday cage, it panics and goes ape-shit trying to connect to somewhere until the battery self-destructs . . .
But does the same thing happen if I put my cell phone into a Far-Away cage, far from any cell tower? If I’m out of range of any tower, or deep in a canyon somewhere with no cell service, is my phone going to hemorrhage all it’s juice trying to connect somewhere?
Yup. That is what happens.
Yes. It can be a real trap on hikes or when staying in remote places. Your battery goes down fast. You need to turn off cell communications, and just check in occasionally.

Before I learned about this I would go on a hike with my phone as my *map and get frustrated when my battery would seem to be going down like a slashed tyre. I assumed it wasn’t really going down extra quickly and it was just because I was anxious that it seemed to be.
Then I learned about this issue.
*don’t worry, always had a paper backup, but phones are easier.
And I have an aunt and cousins who, every time we visited them, I had to remember to put my phone in airplane mode as soon as we got off the interstate, for the same reason.
(honestly, with as many nerds as there are in that family, I’m surprised they never installed their own micro-cell)
I think micro-cells have been superseded by WiFi calling, which is supported by many newer phones. If I connect to a WiFi network, I can place calls over it rather than the cell network.
