Does anyone know the words to "Cessate, Omai Cessate"?

Hmm, what to say? It’s a Vivaldi cantata and I can’t find the Italian words anywhere. This is bothering me because I have here a great rendition of it by Andreas Scholl and I would like to know what he is complaining about. Well actually, I do know what he is complaining about because I found an English translation <a href=“http://www.gyrix.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001754.html”>here</a>. But I want to know what he is singing and I was hoping a native speaker might be nice enough to tell me because I can’t follow the music at all :3 I don’t know Italian but I know enough of other Romance languages to puzzle it out if I can see the words written down.

I was going to put an MP3 up temporarily on Putfile but it appears my area has been banned. For your interest, my area has also been banned from deviantART, ImageShack, Kingdom of Loathing and a multitude of other sites, and it’s not hard to imagine that it’s all because of one person. I wasn’t too sure of how legal that would have been anyway. Is there any way of showing this music to people that won’t result in a thread locking and my question never being answered?

Ah, I see that once again my Googling skills have failed me. Either that or I subconsciously filtered out all the Italian results even though I was looking for Italian. Man, don’t you just hate that? And now I have learned that opera is completely unintelligible, even when you have the words right in front of you!

Does he repeat any lines? Because I keep hearing stuff that isn’t on the page.

I set Google to only return pages in Italian, from the Preferences link. Which reminds me, I should probably set that back. Or learn Italian. Heh.

Argh! I’ve found my problem now! My recording starts halfway through the song. No wonder I couldn’t follow.

… I fail at being highbrow. Fail fail fail.
