Does Anyone Know Where I Can Learn the "Likes and Dislikes" of MUSKRATS & FOX?

Does anyone know of a website, a book, or anywhere that I can find out what things (like a type of plant, chicken wire…ANYTHING!)might discourage muskrats from hanging out
on my lakeshore? The dig so many tunnels that it’s nearly hollow under there!
I would also like to know what things might attract fox?

Yep, plant a whole bunch of Merigolds around the lake front. Muskrat, beaver, ground hog, rabbits, the like all hate them sooo mcuh they will move on and leave your lake front alone. I plant merigolds around the perimeter of my garden every year and never ever have a problem with the above mentioned vermin, or deer for that matter. Go now to home Depot and get a shit load of merigolds…you’ll be surprised at the result and your neighbors will be peeved that the muskrats are now bothering them

Fox with big American breasts? You’ll need bulges! BIG bulges!

Unfenced, unguarded chicken coop.

Try lady foxes

It isn’t always convenient to have your lake frontage filled with marigolds. If you live on a lake and you have a muskrat problem, the only reliable and permanent way to deal with them is to trap them, and either release them in someone else’s lake, or else to kill them.

Links about trapping Minnesota muskrats in their capacity as “furbearing critter whose skin is worth money”.

I doubt if you’ll be able to find anybody willing to adopt them. You might consult with your local extension service about other long-term solutions. Look in the phone book under “Your County” Coop Extension Service.

Or talk to the DNR.

The best way to attract foxes is to provide suitable habitat. Here’s what they need.

Basically, they need “cover”, so if you live in a total suburb, with no woodlots, you probably won’t get many foxes living there.
