Does anyone know who does this version Peg?

The classic Steely Dan song Peg - I heard a version on the college radio station the other day that really blew my mind, but I didn’t hear who did it. It was sort of driving rock, jangley guitars, and the key had been changed from major to minor, which gave the song a very different feel. There was an interlude in the middle with sort of a capela chorus singing - no words, just “ahhh.” I cannot seem to find it on Youtube. I would call the radio station and ask them but it’s Blood on the Saddle country western music tonight. Does anyone know who does this version of the song?

I’m embarassed to admit I never knew the name of that song, lol. <blush> I’ve had some luck just googling “Steely Dan covers + Peg” but don’t know if they’re what you’re looking for. I like them, though!

Nerina Pellot

Cryptasize

Both are female singers, and awfully similar, actually.

Thanks Taomist, but those aren’t it. I had seen the Nerina Pellot when I was scanning through Youtube videos but I didn’t listen to it because the one I am looking for has male vocals, so that obviously wasn’t it, but now that I listen to it it’s quite good. I like her interpretation of the song. The Cryptasize, not so much. At least they’re putting their own spin on the song, so props for that.
The amazing thing about this version I am trying to find is the key shift from major to minor. I didn’t recognize the song at all until the singing came in. Mostly the singer could follow the original melody, but there were parts where he has to move it a bit. It sounds a little like Sea and Cake, but with more driving guitar than they use. And better vocals. Well I am going to have to keep looking.

And I’ll keep an eye on this thread, 'cause now my interest is pegged…I mean piqued!

It may well have been Larry Carlton. He was (is?) a studio-type musician that played With Steely Dan, and included it on one of his solo albums.
