I don’t know the name of the store but it was “<Something> King” and combinations of Furniture King/Mattress King/Room King on YouTube aren’t turning up anything.
Basically I remember these commercials airing CONSTANTLY through-out the mid-00’s to early 10’s on my local SoCal Los Angeles based stations, like about once a break. They were your bog standard furniture store commercials but at the end a really bad CGI character dressed like a king would pop-out and go “I am the King!” in a very bad monotone voice. Kind of like the Empire Direct commercials except with even less of a budget.
The reason why I’m asking is nobody I know even remembers these commercials despite the fact they would air once every commercial break when I was watching Dodgers games so they must have had some traction somewhere. Looking for name of store and possibly links to the commercials themselves.
Actually, I see now that HRH was named Paul Goldenberg, not Goldberg. I just wanted to make sure I got that straight, not terribly wise to piss off the memory of a king, you know.
When I lived down there, I seem to remember some “Mattress King” who would show up out of nowhere, complete with red robe and crown at the end of the spot.
