Does anyone smoke cigarettes oither than Camel and Marlboro?

Im a 27 year old smoker in Florida, I agree most everyone smokes Marlboro, Camel or Kools. I smoke Winston regular and Parliment, and heres why…

If I smoke Marlboro Reds, I get all kinds of weird aches and pains.

If I smoke Marlboro Lights, I cough up and hack stuff up for the next 24 hours. This is due to more chemicals being in the cigarteete to make it lighter I would assume.

If I smoke Menthols, just forget it!

If I smoke Camel, I cant breathe good, Camel used to be my favorite brand…

When I smoke Winstons I can breathe and dont have any pains or hack up anything, but thats just me…

PS: Everyone always thinks Parliment cigs are generic, when in fact there not, I smoke them sometimes because I always get coupons in the mail giving me free packs of them

when i smoke (usually in the 3 weeks before exams) it’s usually rollies.

cutter’s choice, blue rizlas and a roach.

it makes me smoke less often because i have to go to all the trouble of rolling every time i want one.

i’m one of those people on the opposite end from an addictive personality. i can take it or leave it.

Benson & Hedges Gold, full flavor here. Husband is a Winston man. I used to smoke Viceroy (we’d cop 'em off my girlfriend’s mother) and then I smoked Marlboro. My ex didn’t like the smell of Marlboro, so I switched to Merit briefly, and then to B&H. I’ve been there for around 25 years. I love them. I truly love them!

What about old man cigarettes, like Lucky Strikes or Chesterfield? I have a hard time grasping the idea that back in the 1940s, a bunch of high schoolers would go to a local store, and actually say “Hey, Pops, how about a pack of Chesterfields? Doc says that they’re healthier because they’re streamlined!”

I advised a friend that she should carry around a pack of Lucky Strike filterless around with her when she went clubbing, so nobody would bum cigs from her. Folks were thrown aback, but then they thought she was some sort of cigarette expert, and ask her all sorts of questions about British smokes. Strange.

These are the major brands in Canada, and most are OK.

Player’s (I prefered Light)
Export “A”
du Maurier

There was a nasty brand of cig that was made in PEI. I can’t remember the name of it, but ewww…

'Course I don’t smoke now, but sometimes it’s nice to dream.

I started out on Marbs, worked out that I could save some money by smoking Longbeach and I haven’t looked back since. [Americans have NO idea what I’m talking about right now].

[hijack]

Does anyone know what give American cigarettes their distinctive “American cigarette” smell?

[/hijack]

irishgirl, I hate you and all your ilk. I haven’t had a cigarette in over a year, and I’m just barely hanging on. I want one every hour of the day…

I smoke Lucky Strikes when I can find them, (difficult in the UK), for the roasty toasty aroma  other than that it’s usually Marlboro Lights or whatever fags I can bum.

Mostly American Spirits. They’re a little obscure but a pack will usually last my wife and I about a week, so it’s not a problem.

*note to self : bumming fags can mean different things to different people.

American Spirits are the only way to go!!

I started out with Camels because that’s what my brothers smoked (one still does). I played around with the froo-froo Camels (Special Lights 100s) for a while. I have always HATED Marlboros. Dorals are OK in a pinch, so are Winstons (but only the S2s).

But Spirits are the best!! (Damned $37 a carton!!) My husband and I last about a week on a carton. Depends on how stressful my week is and whether or not we go to my brother’s on Saturday night.

. . . or my dad (who is, unfortunately, deceased–and NO this is not a litany on the dangers of smoking, it’s just a fact) who smoked Kents regularly.

Me, I’m one of those annoying “social smokers”–I like to smoke, but rarely do (these days, probably about 4 times a year), and have never allowed myself to do so on a regular basis, because I don’t want to compromise my health any more than I already do with my rabid love of bacon. However, if you get one too many margaritas in me, I’m the pest at the bar who taps you on the shoulder and offers you a quarter for one of your cigs.

Which means I ain’t picky.

I don’t know if this is good or bad; I know someone with a spouse who drinks . . . a little too much. While she acknowledges this about her hubby, she takes comfort in the fact that he won’t drink certain things (wine, for example), because her idea is that a true alcoholic will drink anything that’ll get him/her drunk.

Whether or not you agree with this theory, it doesn’t bode well when applied to my smoking habits–I will, pretty much, smoke anything (beggars can’t be choosers, after all), so does that make me a true smoker?

My Dad smoked Pall Malls. I smoke, as my nephew so elegantly put it, NigCigs. AKA Newports.

I smoke Parliament Lights… and when I try to quit (which is frequently) I smoke Capri Ultra Lights… nasty little suckers…

I quit smoking 2 years ago. I smoked Chesterfields while I was in Europe and would have smoked them here in the States except I could never find filtered versions of them.

I remember being thrilled when a friend went to Europe and bought me two cartons of them. I stretched those out over a month.

Then start checking magazine ads. Every once in a while, AS will run an ad for a free carton! Just call the 800 number, give them some info and let them send you stuff, and you get 200 free cigarettes! Woo hoo!

I am sending a carton of American Spirits to my brother in Afghanistan in his care package. He will love me forever.

Salem Slim Light 100’s.

I’ve smoked the occasional Virginia Slim, and the occational Capri, even (they are those tiny little cigs that look like toothpicks). I actually like the Capris, but I feel like a dunce smoking them!!

My old boss smoked Vantage, and another boss smoked Benson & Hedges.

I think those are the right names.

I’ve never smoked Camels or Marlboros.

I was a longtime Winston smoker, starting back in high school (that would be in the mid-70s). Don’t know why, I just liked them.

Then sometime in college I switched to a milder brand, Merits. Then from there to Merit Ultra-Lights. Now I’m down to Carltons, which is about as close to not smoking as one can get, I guess.

But, god, I miss those Winstons. Maybe I’ll buy just one pack tonight. It is the weekend, after all.

By the way, I’m in New York City, where our esteemed Mayor has raised cigarette taxes so that a pack now costs $7.50. Also, starting in April, smoking will be forbidden in bars. What is this, fucking Berkeley, for god’s sake? If I can’t have a drink and a smoke in a bar after a hard day at work, something has really gone wrong and it’s time for the revolution to begin.

Unless you live in one of about 7 states, GA being one of them. :frowning:
I smoke Marlboro Mediums, occasionaly I smoke Lucky Filters. They are good but too harsh to smoke on a regular basis (not to mention they are not always easy to find).

Wimps.

I roll my own.

Drum tobacco is the best, but hard to come by sometimes.
Several knockoffs of Drum, Jason and BaliShag for instance, are almost as good.

Very mild, very inexpensive, you don’t smoke quite as much as it really isn’t easy to roll one while you are doing 65 on the freeway or when you are walking, and you can roll them as thick or thin as you like. I usually get 50 to a pack.
