Does anyone still use dry snuff?

Back again with another dip-n-spit question!

Both of my grandmothers dipped snuff; back when I was a shorty in West Virginia. it was still a pretty common practice for older ladies to do so. They didn’t use the same kind of snuff as men, though–ladies who dipped used the kind that came in neat little tin canisters, about the size of a photo film can, and it was a dry powder, like the original sniffed or snorted sort, instead of the coarse, moist 'Hagen type. The brands I remember were Diamond and Square.

I’ve tried to find some of that kind of snuff recently, for nostalgic reasons and because I think those little cans would be pretty nifty for keeping other stuff than snuff in. Surprisingly (because smoke shops in Cali sell just about every kind of tobacco product you can think of), I can’t find it anywhere. This got me wondering if they even make it anymore, if there are still folks who prefer that kind of chew, and if anyone else on the Dope had ever seen what I’m talking about.
