This Conspiracy Theory says that the colors in the logo predict what teams will play and who will win. I don’t buy it……but it is weird. But those colors are so common, I guess it’s confirmation bias or something like that here?
Every logo has red and a third of the teams have red in their colors.
Coincidence?
Of course it is.
mmm
If people really believed that they had advance knowlege of which teams would make the Super Bowl, they could make a fortune by wagering on those teams.
If they don’t do that, then they don’t really believe the conspiracy.
The Indianapolis Colts logo doesn’t.
They were referring to the Super Bowl logos.
But to the OP - my MIL believes that professional sports are all rigged. “It’s not a coincidence that all the series go to 7 games!”, despite pointing out that they most certainly don’t always go 7 games.
So, when is the logo set? I can see them waiting to finalize the official logo until the two teams are known. Any merchandise the sell is going to show the teams, anyway.

despite pointing out that they most certainly don’t always go 7 games.
And I’m not even sure most go to 7 games.
Looking at the World Series going backward from this year going to 2000, it’s been: 5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 6, 7, 7, 5, 7, 6, 4, 7, 5, 6, 5, 4, 5, 4, 4, 6, 7, 7, 5. So we have a median of 6, and a mean of 5.7. 7 is barely the mode for this time period, but it means that only 29% of the World Series games since 2000 went to 7 games.
Let’s do the same with NBA! We have: 5, 6, 6, 6, 6, 4, 5, 7, 6, 5, 7, 5, 6, 7, 5, 6, 4, 6, 7, 5, 6, 4, 5, 6. Fairly similar: We have a mean of 5.625, a median of 6, and a mode of 6. Games going to 7 represented only 16.7%.
I’m not going to bother with NHL or conference series and the such, but at the most profitable level to Those In Charge, the games don’t go to 7 the clear majority of times. We’re looking at (not even) 1-in-3 get there for MLB and (not even) 1-in-5 get there in the NBA since 2000.
But, I know, facts don’t matter. It’s not going to convince her.

Ain’t that the truth. She’s even said things like “a seven game series should only happen 1/7 of the time”, because she can’t understand why it’ll never be a 1, 2 or 3 game series!
I think the conspiracy failed last year. Though people claim the logo for the last Super Bowl had green in it, it was clearly an aquamarine color, and only Miami has that. It’s nowhere near the color of green that the Eagles use.
It also had purple so clearly the conspiracy doesn’t require the teams to have all the colors of the logo.
The Chiefs and 49ers both have red, so if either or both get in people will claim they satisfied it. The Ravens obviously have purple. What if the Lions make it in? People will probably say blue is close to purple. Or the silver in their uniform matches the silver in the logo.
No matter what this conspiracy won’t go anywhere as long as people like to talk about it.

Oh good lord. Then she’ll even less be able to comprehend that of all best-of-7 possibilities, 7-game results are the most common, followed by 6, 5, and 4. (I think I read there’s 40 seven-game results, 20 six-game results, 8 five-game results and 2 four-game results, for a total of 70 possible “first to four” outcomes.) So given two completely equal teams, we should be seeing a hell of a lot more games going to seven than we are. (But we don’t get two “coin flip” teams usually.)

So, when is the logo set? I can see them waiting to finalize the official logo until the two teams are known.
Months, if not years, ahead of time.
