Does Arafat Have AIDS?

Do the virgins get their hymens back? And after 72 deflorations wouldn’t the experience pall and you’d start longing for somebody who actualy knew how to fuck? Do gay guys, like Yasser, get 72 virgin guys? What if some of the guys turned out to be straight? “Sorry, Prophet, sir, but while I thought I might be gay when I died, now that I’ve tried it it turns out I’m not really into that scene. Yes, maybe getting fucked by somebody as ugly as Yasser Arafat might have something to do with it. Do you have something in a young Omar Sharif I could try to be sure?”

Arafat is a Muslim, not a Christian.

You can read this article here.

His wife, apparantly, was born Christian.

And the award for Best Reply to the OP (so far) goes to…dropzone! Who struck exactly the right note. I laughed my ass off.

I dunno, I’d rather die quickly, myself. And without all those rashes and lesions and incredibly expensive drugs and stuff. I’m just crazy that way I guess.
[sup]PS The idiocy of your position is showing. Pulling up your pants might help.[/sup]

He does not have AIDS.

You cannot get AIDS from a goat.

For what it’s worth, my sources in Israeli Military Intelligence have told me that there is evidence of Arafat being engaged in homosexul activity. I’m not sure what to make of that: said sources had been in the past in a position to have actual, concrete knwlege on the subject; on the other hand, they also have a history of pulling my leg (nobody can give you deadpan bullshit like an Intelligence officer). So it go either way - just like Yasser Arafat! [rimshot]

Seriously, though, Arafat being gay would actually get me to respect him a bit. This part of the world is a hell of a closet to be in.

Actually, it’s a Seinfeld reference, IIRC.

Oh yeah-AIDS!!! What a kneeslapper! HA HA!

Which explains why your hat is resting on your collar.

Hey! You be NICE to roseworm. She/he complimented me and there’s precious few people here who have.

Well, you are not the only one who gets to hear such rumours and you are certainly not the only one who has reasons to doubt the accuracy of what your intelligence spreads around, especially when it concerns about what moves in the Arab ME and even more so when it concerns Palestinians

I have no reason to believe any of these stories. I have also no reason to believe it can not be true and I have also no reason to believe that Israel would be shy to fabricate “evidence” if they found it useful. That they never came public with such a shocking “discovery” tells something, yet at the same time they also could have found it wiser not to do that, for several reasons.
The truth is that in the end everyone can be painted as being whatever everyone likes (for this you only need to take a look at how the US government painted Iraq The Immediate Threat to USA 1) when such a thing serves the interest of one party involved.
So unless the wife of Arafat says that he is bisexual, I don’t think there can be said anything about anything.
For those who are playing once again on the old theme “72 virgins”:

How many virgins

Bear in mind that they are notspreading rumours around - otherwise, this specific one would be a lot more well known. The rumor was spread to me, personally, and I’m only repeating it after someone else brought it up. But I respect what you’re saying.

Forgot: Not only the OP with his attitude of linking AIDS withouth any further thought with “being gay” makes me thing about the state of education on the matter at where ever he is from.
All the rest that jumped without hesitation on that same wagon makes me wonder the same.

And by saying this I prefer to ignore all this rejoicing over the most probably inevitable and rather fast approaching death of someone these rejoicers have no clue about. Suffice to say that it once again proves the miserable state of your education.
You can be “for” or “against” someone or something, be informed or not about someone or something… Applauding death and suffering however always shows your real character in any situation and in any case.
I see that attitude far too much on this message board when it comes to talk about Muslims and especially those who live in the ME, to be able to consider it any longer as being separate cases of ignorants. (Makes me also wonder how many of these people consider themselves “Christian”).

Yes, I understood that. Nothing wrong with my English reading skills at the moment

I hope you’re not including me in your last post. I am very well informed on the Middle East, on Arab culture, and on Yasser Arafat (whose death I am not rejoycing - but neither am I mourning).

Actually, there is an organization stateside called “Gay Mens’ Health Crisis”.
Because AIDS has hit the gay community very hard.
So it isn’t out of this world to assume a correlation to a certain degree between homosexual sexual practices and risk of exposure to HIV.

Wow…
That’s pretty damn harsh my friend.
How, exactly, do you have a firm idea what people know about Arafat?

Don’t you think that just maybe you’re engaging in the same practice you are decyring? You’re lumping all of us together and talking about the ‘miserable’ state of our education system. I’d even be willing to wager that you’ve done no lit review at all on current educational research.

I agree
I agree
I agree

Need I go on?

(by the way, you’ll find that American education can be quite excellent if the student is willing to exert some effort)

Shalom.

P.S. If you say ‘they have no clue about thus and such’, then don’t prove your statement, and then go on to say that your unproven asserition is proof of a further assertion… well, you get the picture.

No, I was not.

Among the many many many other problems with this idea is the implication that the docile media is not asking for information about Arafat’s illness. What does this profit the media? Nevermind that it’s demonstrably untrue, since around here there has been plenty of speculation - liver disease, leukemia, he’s in a coma, he’s out of a coma, he’s dead, bagel, he’s brain dead, blood disease - why would the media be in on this coverup? I guess this is just De Facto point #1 of every conspiracy theory: the reason nobody knows about is that the media is covering it up. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, it has been more than 22.3 years…

It might be worth noting, for the folks who haven’t been paying attention for the last 20 years, that there are numerous other ways to be infected with HIV and develop AIDS than gay sex. Like straight sex. Like injections. Like transfusions. Like being born with it. I’d look up links, but anyone who takes AIDS as a serious disease rather than something to make jokes about already knows them.

However, this thread does have one saving grace – coupled with another Pit thread, we now know how to bring peace to the Middle East.

I.e., let all the militaristic BS go on until people are ready for peace. Then put the team of Aldebaran and Allesan in charge – they’ve proven that they can reason together for the good of the region, which is more than the people in charge over there now can do.

And I’m only half-joking here – that sort of reaching across emnity is something heartwarming, considering the factionalist BS that has prevailed lately. Thanks, you two, for making me feel better about where the world is going.

I’d support that.

Aldebaran I’m not rejoicing either. To take pleasure in the death of another human being is against the teachings of my mother, and the Talmud. More, I agree that spreading rumours that Arafat is dying of AIDS is wrong. So is spreading rumours that he’s been poisoned. He’s 75. The odds are very high that he is dying of some common ailment- cancer, heart disease or such.
