Question for y’all: If I get my daily dose of calories in one sitting rather than two or three, will that affect anything?
According to this review, possibly, though unlikely.
It will certainly affect how hungry you feel during the day, and the temptation to nibble more before and after the big meal.
(This is just a WAG), but you would probably not be able to stick to one meal a day for a long duration, due to your sporadic energy levels. I guess you would be tired / weak a lot of the time, then sluggish and stuffed after the large feed.
Well, I have for a week now. Thassa thing about all-you-can-eat buffets and limited food budgets. I decided since I was getting by on two trips a day to see if I could survive one one big one. It’s worked so far, but I’ve lost 5 pounds since I started college and don’t want them back.
Thanks, BTW.
Are you good with counting Calories? Do you know how much you’re eating during your big meal? Also, are you getting absolutely no Calories outside that one meal?
When I was going through my (ahem!)“thin period” the doctors told me to eat a bunch of small meals every day. I did, and I gained weight. However, I think it also works to lose weight…not pigging out on 10 lbs of food at once seems like it would slow your metabolism down.
Large meals keep your stomach stretched out and that makes you hungrier. But if it works for you, why change your routine?
Whatever you do, don’t become obsessed with dieting. Just eat healthily.
Popular thought would have it that smaller, more frequent meals are better because they keep your metabolism higher. I think that’s a bit vague. I think Zoe has a point with the stomach stretching though I think the greatest benefit from smaller/more frequent meals would be a more stable blood sugar level which would avoid the insulin spikes that stop fat metabolism. However small and frequent, you still need to be eating low glycemic foods.
