Does Hulu Plus suck for anybody else?

When ever I go to this site it’s a coin toss on weather or not I’m going to be able to watch my show. The main problem being that it is too choppy to watch.

I ask because I wonder if it’s a regional problem or if it’s the whole damn website?

Can’t comment on ‘plus’, but we use Hulu a fair amount and it seems to work as well as any other streaming site. The only problem I’ve noticed is that the ads don’t buffer while the show is playing, but I don’t really care if I get choppy ads.

I never had an issue back when I had Hulu Plus. In fact, I found it better than Netflix for play back.

It works a lot better on my roku than regular Hulu did on my computer. I’ve had it pause a few times (always brand new Supernatural episodes, ftr) for no good reason, but no choppy-ness.

I’m trying to watch it right now and it’s been incredibly choppy tonight.

Regular Hulu seems to work better than most sites. But, then again, you are limited to 480p with that. I don’t know how well it would handle 1080p.

BTW, the connection is not the only thing that can cause choppy playback. My netbook, for example, can’t play HD videos on the Internet–I have to download them and play them with VLC. And that’s just 720p–I never even bother with 1080p.

So, if your computer is slow, it could be causing the problem. (Though it’s still Hulu’s fault just like it’s blip’s fault that all their videos max out my processor while YouTube can play the exact same video at 50%.)
