I listen to mp3 files of radio shows on my pda. I use replay radio which allows 30 sec, 1 minute, and 2 minute forward skipping so I can bypass ads and segments that don’t interest me.
It is basically tivo for talk radio.
I am considering using a hard drive based mp3 player to do this same thing…but I need to have a fast forward feature.
Does the ipod let you fast forward through a mp3 file?
Anyone know of an mp3 player that can do 30 sec skip forward?
Are their any PDA’s which have a built in 10+ gb hard drive like an ipod?
Yes, the iPod does allow fast fowarding; not quite the 1-button 30 sec, 1 minute, 2 minute-exactly fast forwarding you’re talking about, though. Basically, you press a button to get into shuffle mode, then use the scroll wheel to shuffle forwards or backwards through the mp3. The faster you turn the scroll wheel, the faster it will fast-forward or -reverse. You can see the time right in the display, so it’s pretty easy to see when you’ve gone a certain distance ahead or backwards.
Troy, I’ve had it all packaged up and waiting to be mailed out for two days now, but I haven’t received your email with your home address. Unfortunately, someone else came along while I was waiting and asked very politely for the iPod, so I gave it to them instead. Hope you understand.
