Does it hurt when I do this?

When the Boards get all bloggy and I want to post a post, I’ll “Submit” and sit there. Tra la la… this is taking longer than usual… tra la la.

Then I lose patience. I’m an Instant Gratification kinda guy. I’ll pop the “Preview Reply” button. When it’s just a one page thread, my reply will come up and it will also show at the end of the thread. If the thread is more than one page, I’ll just see my reply.

Eventually the system “catches up” and the post shows on the Forum front page. (Not the post, of course, just my name in the “Last Post” slot.) But it could take a few minutes.

No worries, but am I causing grief to the system? Should I just sit it out?

Once you hit ‘submit’ I think it goes into the system. I usually wait a couple of seconds, if it still hasn’t ‘posted’, I’ll close out the page and open it up anew. It’s faster than waiting and your post will eventually show up anyway. Meanwhile you don’t have to wait until it does and can move on to other threads.

The “problem” is the same one Neurotik is having here.

I wasn’t too keyed up as to why it happens. I just want to be sure I’m not making things worse. (And when I run into the problem I don’t post for a while. Give the systen time to “rest”.)

Thanks Hombre. I figured when I hit “Submit” my post went… somewhere. It always seems to find its way to the thread. Eventually.

I was just wondering if I was “hurting” the system with my “Submit”, “Preview”, wander off routine. I guess if I was “hurting” anything I would get a strongly worded e-mail saying, in effect, “Knock it off. Me mean you.”
