I set out to do a 30 K run today to get ready for a marathon in a few weeks. I got interrupted at the 16 K mark and wasn’t able to finish. I have time to do the remaining 14 K tonight. Is that a good idea, or did I miss my chance? I can imagine reasons why it does make sense and reasons why it doesn’t, so any advice would be welcome.
As long as you’re properly prepared (hydrated, etc.), I can’t see the harm in it. Barring overuse injuries, extra miles will only help at this point. It doesn’t count as a 30K run at this point though, for training purposes.
Good advice! I did go out and had a good run.
