Does one need a hunting license to hunt bigfoot?

It would seem to depend on the state. Missouri has a “permissive” wildlife code. That means the code defines what you can do. Anything not specificly mentioned is not permited.

It’s my understanding that some states define what you can’t do. So in that case you might get by with it.

I’m not sure, but maybe it would fall under some restriction against killing endangered species under the Endangered Species Act. It’s possible that they have to be registered on the list before being considered protected, though.

Huh. Having read over the ESA, it seems that it doesn’t need to be listed to be considered endangered. And there’s also no specific prohibition against killing endangered animals - only against violating park regulations about them. However, you could NOT sell him legally on eBay.
