Hunting Bigfoot? Don't forget your permit!

Who would think that hunting a mythical creature requires a permit?

A hunt organizer found out the hard way. First, he charged $300-500 per entry, then he led a hunt in Arkansas, where BigFoot isn’t reported to frequent much. I’m sure he didn’t offer any guarantees, but:

“We definitely heard sounds that were indicative of Sasquatch. Characteristic vocalizations. Very compelling observations.” According to reports, Pruitt was using a thermal imaging device during the hunt and claimed that with its aid he saw what may or may not have been a Sasquatch.

Who can argue with that?

But his activity caught the eye of a park ranger, who issued a $525 fine for “engaging in a business without a permit or written agreement."

Chief Ranger Karen Bradford of the National Park Service (NPS)…explained her concerns, but stopped short of confirming the existence of Bigfoot. “We are in this to protect our resources,” she said… “If he’s got people running around in the park, who knows what they’re doing looking for this elusive creature."
