Does Reflexology Really Work?

An excellent article, Bricker, on the above topic, posted today.

However, it is seriously marred by the advertising accompanying the article, at least for the time I viewed it, providing a click-on ad for Powerful Healing Water (don’t click on that ad without turning off your sound first).

I realize SDMB did not create the ad, but the very fact that they allow such to be present is extremely disappointing. “Fighting Ignorance” is not an appropriate motto for this web site anymore. Unless the ad policy is changed, “Promoting Bullshit” would be more honest.

Just in case anyone doubts what my screen looked like, here it is.

And if you decline to click on the link on that page, here’s what the first page looks like. You can use your imagination for the rest.

Cecil, Good Buddy, this problem needs to be addressed. Seriously.

I defer to Ed or the admins for a more complete and authoritative explanation.

But the simple fact is: there is no easy way to exclude categories of ads like this. You accept advertising from an ad packager and then you take what they serve up.

I knew you were going to say that. Shame on us, then.

appears to be the business plan of this message board. Good call.

I agree about the article. Well done, Bricker.

Or you can just download Adblock for free and you won’t see them. Works for me, anyway. Adblock tells me it blocks from 5-7 ads every time I load the home page.
