ok, here’s the deal. I have the 40gb PS3 upstairs plugged into the 47" LCD. I have a router for my wireless notebook upstairs. Without having to buy a 150foot eithernet cable, drilling a hole through my floors and running it through the house to have the ability to play my PS3 online, is there something I can buy to prevent this?
I can’t carry my PS3 downstairs because there is no TV and the basement isn’t really finished anyways.
I looked on Best Buy and also typed in WiFi connector for PS3 on google and didn’t really find what I was looking for.
Is this what I need or not?
The PS3 ships with wifi built in. You don’t need any special accessories. Go to System Settings and then find Network or Internet. Something like that.
Weird, it says that it can’t find the network. Plus, why would they sell something like that link above if this was the case? Not doubting you, just curious.
The 20 gig version is the only PS3 that didn’t come with WiFi.
The product you linked to is designed to be connected to an internet connected PC to turn it into a wireless access point. It’s for homes where wireless access is not already set up.
Are you sure the network is findable from the room you are in? Can you check it with a laptop?
Yeah, my laptop works in the same room that the PS3 doesn’t work in. well, I guess I’ll give it another try, but this time I’ll get closer to my router. thanks fellas and fellaettes.
