Does the GOP actually think this? (Abortion)

Or is it just trump going senile? Or a BIG LIE propaganda point? Post Birth abortions?

Welker pushed back on Trump’s distorted claim that “radical” Democrats “say, after five months, six months, seven months, eight months, nine months, and even after birth, you’re allowed to terminate the baby.”…Later in the interview, Trump told Welker that “you’re allowed to kill the baby after birth” in New York and other states — which is false.

They openly lie about anything. They believe in nothing. They just want to hold onto their power and abuse it. They don’t really give a shit about abortion one way or the other.

Big lie propaganda. They couldn’t ever get enough people on board with their cruel and inhumane abortion policies, so they have to lie about it to make liberals seem evil. When you can’t win an honest argument, accuse your opposition of horrific things. See also the trans panic/groomer stuff, which is because they were losing the perception battle over gay rights. So now its not about protecting traditional marriage, its that gay people and anyone that supports gay rights is a pedo/groomer. Same thing. Same tactic.

This is it. Getting Roe v Wade overturned really motivated people against them, so they’re trying to distract folks with a new lie to smear the left with.

Trump also said that Biden is going to start WWII. And that you need an ID to buy bread.

^ That’s just a start.

Short video piece:

As we’ve already seen too much of, the GOP rank-and-file will believe what they’re told to believe. No sense in rubbing two brain cells together to determine if a “post-birth” abortion and legal killing of live babies in Democrat-controlled states is even a thing - if Dear Leader says it - it must be true! Stay dumb, Republicans!

Reminds me of when Cartman’s mother wanted to abort Cartman, in the 40th trimester.

Underestimating your adversary is a mistake. So I go with the second above.

Democrats have done well in recent special elections, and a big reason is that the Democrats take a more popular position on abortion. Trump is determined to win in November 2024, so he takes a much more centrist position on abortion than others Republicans. Lying about the Democratic position on abortion helps with this positioning.

Michael Scott: “How long have you known about the pregnancy? A week? A month? A year?”

Depends on the Republican. This is from TheFederalist.com:

Trump Is Delusional To Think He Can Broker ‘Peace’ In The Abortion Debate

I expect Trump will go down a bit in GOP primary polling because of his Meet the Press abortion pivot. He’s so far ahead, with respect to the nomination race, that he can afford to start positioning himself for the general election.

Now, other Republicans will like what Trump said because of caring a great deal about winning back the presidency, and not much about either abortion or their candidate being truthful.

More lies-
Has a single Democrat leader ever articulated the stage of pregnancy after which they would support an abortion ban? No, they haven’t. My colleague David Harsanyi rightly noted Monday that Democrats support zero limits on abortion, even up to the point of birth in some states, and “are also opposed to compelling doctors to provide infants who survive attempted abortions the minimum amount of care they would be expected to provide any other person.”

From my cite-

As we have written, many Democrats, including Biden, support codifying the Supreme Court’s 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortions up until the point of fetal viability. The ruling defined viability as generally from 24 to 28 weeks of gestation, although a court ruling three years later said viability should be determined by the attending physician.

In recent years, Democrats in Congress have introduced a bill that would bar states from prohibiting abortion after a fetus is viable outside the womb in cases where the patient’s life or health is at risk. Republicans claim that the bill would allow abortion on demand “up to the moment of birth.”

Democrats counter that’s not what they support.

The disagreement centers on what each side interprets the “health” exception to mean, Mary Ziegler, a professor of law at the University of California, Davis and the author of six books on the abortion debate and the law, told us. “Republicans view those health exceptions as sort of like a blanket permission to have an abortion whenever you want.” Democrats say “it’s an exception for life or health.”

So, yeah, in general Dems have said abortion on demand is a no-go after 24-28 weeks, except where bringing the fetus to term would kill the mother or the baby. I mean, I guess that means dems are against any “ban”, but a huge % of the voters are in favor of abortions if lives are in danger. Even those that hate abortion on demand. Only crazy people demand that the mother dies to bring a baby into this world.

That right there is the problem. No snark, I am being serious. Republicans do not trust doctors. Doctors have too much power, they want that power for themselves. They don’t want doctors making decisions on medical issues, they want to do it.

If a law says that the physician can determine if a fetus is viable, and make a determination for the safety of the mother, well, that physician could possibly say it’s not viable yet all the way up until birth, because how can you know otherwise? How can we trust doctors with their illegible scribbles and complicated Latin words?

Son of a bitch. In the name of RATINGS!!! a newbie Meet The Press moderator gave Trump an opportunity to spread lies to the nation free of charge, bolstering those who think that “I seen it on the tv, so it must be true!” is the epitome of fact checking. Just once I wish one of those gutless wonder hosts would cut his fucking mic after the first blatant and inflammatory lie, kick him out of the station and show a re-run.

Seriously, this ought to be the gold standard for interviewing Loser Donald;

No. Trump still got to make all his other points while Jake kept pressing on the one question. This also used up all the time Jake needed to ask other questions. If Trump wants to hog the microphone take it away, shut off the camera, put up a banner reading “Interview cancelled due to lack of cooperation” and kick his ass out of the studio.

And people are believing it hook, line, and sinker.

Yep. Same with the debates… if there are any.

Thanks to a little secret I like to call Peer Review.

Seriously, I think you are right. And in the interest of living in a modern society, that ideology must be defeated.

Are you talking about…

…OTHER DOCTORS?!?!
