Does the Reader know about this? (Straight Dope Livejournal Syndication)

I was just checking out the syndicated feeds available for LiveJournal users and happened across this.

Does the Reader know about this or has someone set up an unauthorized feed? I know quite a few comic artists have found, to their dismay, that their work was being syndicated on LJ without their permission, so I thought someone should bring it to Ed’s attention…

Mods, if this is in the wrong forum, please move it. I was seriously flummoxed trying to figure out just where it would go. It’s not a Pitting. It’s not strictly about the Boards, so ATMB is out. There’s no real Debate or General-Questions-style question involved. It’s your call.

Perhaps I’m missing something, but it looks to me like all they’re doing is providing links to the content here, not caching the content.

If that is the case, how on earth is that bad?

You’re right! I forgot that links are okay. It’s only actual content copying that’s a violation of copyright.

…goes off to write “I will not be a ditz in public” 100 times…

Well, like I said, I might be missing something subtle, but that’s all it looks to me like they’re doing…I personally think it was very good of you to bring it to the attention of the Staff, regardless of whether it ends up being a concern or not.

Thank you.

My boyfriend and I have a little joke about my graying temples. We say it’s not turning white, it’s turning platinum blond…unfortunately, easily believable at times!

That’s just Cecil’s tap dance - I thought they’d linked to the real SDMB itself.

Heh. I know. That’s why I didn’t put this in ATMB.
