I’ve seen an iconic image of Miles Davis a million times - on shirts, on posters, in magazine articles, but now I can’t find it online at all, and I’m wondering if it even exists.
Miles is sitting at a table, I think with his arms in front of him, and he’s wearing crazy bug-eye sunglasses. I even found this picture, which seems to be a reference to it, but I can’t find the original.
Does it exist, or am I conflating different pictures?
What you’re describing reminds me of the album covers for the Blackhawk records (two, I think) from early in his Columbia days. Except I don’t remember his sitting.
I believe I found the picture the OP refers to while searching through my library’s microfiche. It appears on the December 13, 1969 cover of Rolling Stone. It’s the exact pose he was referring to; unfortunately I can’t find the original on the internet and the issue had no credits for the photo. I’m pretty sure it also appears on the back cover of the CD reissue of “Bitches’ Brew”.
