Does VH-1 even EXIST anymore?!!?

Wasn’t VH-1 originally created to show music videos that appealed to an older demographic than the MTV audience?

Yes, that was the purpose…but now, it seems to be catering to the same demographic audience…

I think VH1 has never been better. The already mentioned Behind The Music, the outstanding Lynyrd Skynyrd documentary by Salon’s Jake Tapper, and Rachel Perry, grrrrowwwlll. The new stuff mostly sounds terrible, but I’ll give it a chance.

Don’t tell me you guys actually miss Rosie O’Donnell and endless Steve Winwood videos?

And VH1 Classic is excellent. They just played a Gang of Four video.

Actually vh1 started out as mtv lite/classic

Does anyone have any actual information on why VH1 has suddenly started showing MTV programming? The aforementioned Real World marathons, whatever that show was called that MTV did on plastic surgery, even “Twisted” or whatever it was? There must have been some higher-up cause for it, but I haven’t heard a word about it.

Did the Gang of Four make an actual video? Or is it one of those cases where the channel is just playing the song over an old clip of a performance on a TV show?
