Yeah, I’ve had a few swings at VH-1 already, but this is it.
Seriously.
Are you ever going to show any music videos anymore? Outside of the VH-1 Top 20 Video countdown?
Ever?
I know you have videos, 'cause I’ve been watching some really cool ones over on VH-1 Classic, which shows classic and new videos.
But on regular VH-1, instead of music videos I get…Charlie’s Angels.
CHARLIE’S ANGELS!!! The episode had nothing to do with music, it was about Cheryl Ladd’s character going undercover on some lame-ass tv show.
Have you made some evil deal with The Prince Of Darkness which forces you to not show videos?
Or is Viacom going to change all of the programming but will keep the name?
The logo bug in the corner still says “Music First!” Maybe VH-1 stands for “Viacom’s Heap - One” now. A channel to show all the other crap they can’t cram onto TV Land, Nick At Nite, and TNN.
Right now they’re showing The Monkees. At least it relates to music.
I get VH-1 Classic on my cable system. With the exception of the veejays (or lack therof), it’s almost a clone of mid 1980s MTV.
I also get VH1, MTV, MTV 2, MTV Espanol, MuchMusic, CMT, and BET Jazz.
Does MTV India have “The Real World - New Delhi”? “Anil, would you please be remembering to kindly remove the dishes from the sink after you wash them very much please?” “Tunak Tunak Tun” played as segue music?
Can you imagine a music TV station that proclaims “We are the Quality Station. We play nothing but the best music - regardless of fashion!” and better yet, imagine if they actually lived UP to the claim?
Totally agree with the OP. VH1 seems to have suddenly morphed into TV Land or Nick at Nite.
Not that I care, since all I watch anymore are the Behind the Music specials. I just hope hope HOPE that they replay the goddamn Judas Priest episode, which I accidentally taped over!! (The last time it was scheduled, it got pre-empted by a special on the death of Lisa Lopez – may that arsonist bitch rot in hell!!!)
Here, here! I hate that! I finally find a video on either MTV or VH1 and they decide to ruin in by either having screaming 14-year olds (MTV) or an interview (VH1) spliced in the middle :smack: … I mean people complain about how “radio has become so bland, generic and predictable” but at least they fucking play the whole damn song! I shudder to say this, but give me Clear Channel over Viacom’s VH1 or MTV anyday…
